Maria José Rodríguez Fórtiz teaches in the Degree in Computer Science at the University of Granada, Spain. Her work is related to software engineering and the application of ICT to special needs, health and elderly. She is specialized and interested in accessibility, usability, and adaptation of software to the user, considering profiles and context (sensors, mobile devices, and IoT). She has been main researcher of 17 research projects and has participated in other 19 national, regional and local projects, some of them with companies. She collaborates with specialists in medicine, psychology, social services and education. She has received 10 awards and recognitions, and has 22 impact publications, and a list of 116 conference, journals and book chapters’ contributions.

She has 12 intellectual property registrations and one licensed patent.

As a result of her projects, 6 mobile applications and 3 web applications have been published: Scaut, Picaa, Sigueme, Pesco, Virtrael, TouchVic, VIVEmbarazo, ViveCrianza and Infinitas Historias.

She has been the supervisor of 8 doctoral theses, as well as numerous end-of-degree projects and end-of-master’s in computer science, related to her research.
